Clipstream™ Video v2.5 Step-by-Step
Follow the steps in this page to encode for the first
time using the Clipstream™ Video 2.5 Encoder.

Brief description of the Main Window
Start up
1. Go to your Start menu.Find and launch the Clipstream™ Video 2.5 Encoder. The Encoder will launch. A dialog will popup informing you on basic elements you can employ with Clipstream™ Video. If you no longer want to see it, check Don't show this message again. 3. Click OK. The Clipstream™ Video 2.5 Main Window will appear. The Clipstream™ Video 2.5 Main Window
contains most of the functions you will need to encode a Clipstream™
Video (.vcs) streaming file. From this window you can choose the file
to encode, select the location to encode it to, change the dimensions,
frame rate, audio quality or access advanced settings.
Encode a sample video step by step Follow these steps to encode the included sample video in several default bit rates (batch).
1. Click on the Browse button.
2. Browse to the default installation folder at c:/program files/Clipstream/Clipstream Video Encoder/ and select the movie file you find there. The sample movie and its file path will now appear in the Source Video Filename field in the Main Window. 3. Choose a location on your hard drive (or server) where you want the encoded (.vcs) files to be saved. Click Output File. In the save dialog, select a location. 4. Type in a filename. Call it "test" and click Save.
The target filename and its location now appears in the Output Video Folder/Filename field. 5. Point to the "Please choose setting" drop-down menu. Select "all above bit rates" at the bottom of the list to encode all of the suggested bit rates for the video (44kbps, 128kbps, 256kbps, 460kbps and 750kbps).
6. Make sure Generate HTML page when finished encoding is checked. 7. Click the Encode button. A DOS window will appear showing the real-time progress of the encode. When it is finished a button will popup informing you that it is done. Click OK. View the encode
1. Navigate to the folder which you chose to save your encoded file to. Open it. You will see the test.vcs (the movie file), the videoclipstream.zip applet player, the buttons.gif buttonset graphic, and an .html page that will have the same name as your source movie. 2. Open the .html page.
3. To play the video, click anywhere on the video frame or click the flashing play button. The video will play. Next: Uploading and hosting on a server
