Batch Encoding (GUI)
The Clipstream™ Video Encoder comes with a default .ini file that contains suggested settings appropriate for most encoding jobs and affects the batch settings using the Clipstream™ Video Main Window. You can encode all of the provided bit rates using the Batch Encode function.

Encoding for the first time
If you haven't encoded before at all, go to our Encoding Clipstream™ Video v2.5 Step-by-Step page.

Try a batch encode
Use the Clipstream™ Video Main Window to encode a series of versions of a movie using the "All Above Bit Rates" option in the Suggested Settings Drop Down menu.

  1. Launch the Clipstream™ Video Encoder.
  2. Browse for a source movie to encode.
  3. Make sure that Generate HTML page when encoding is finished is checked at the bottom of the Main Window.
  4. Click on the drop down menu beside Suggested Settings for various rates at the top of the Main Window.

  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and select All Above Bitrates.

  6. Click Encode.

The Encoder will encode the source movie according to the settings in each of the rates listed in the drop down. After the encoding is finished, the default HTML page is generated.
Play an applet generated by a batch encode
  1. Open the page that was generated by your first batch encode.
  2. Click on the movie frame in the applet to play it.

It will play the fastest speed.

  3. Now click on the Auto button.

A list of all of the bit rates linked to the applet appears.
  4. Try out any of the bit rates by selecting them in the menu. Then press the play button to see them.

Why multiple bit rates?

Multiple bit rates are provided by the applet so that people with different connection speeds will see the video that is optimized for their speed. In the streaming world, having the video play as soon as possible after the viewer lands on the page is important otherwise they would have to wait to download a player-based video. This is why Clipstream™ Video has a batch setting.
